Chances are you have a box of Q-tips in your bathroom cabinet right now due to its near 100% market share — have you ever tried a generic cotton swab? This has caused relatively flat growth year after year as consumers repeatedly buy Q-tips at the same regularity. The solution in part was a social campaign and the redesign of Qtips.com that focused on content first. From there we shared a new idea: alternative uses. “Q-tips hacks” showcased the even more uses for Q-tips in a way that was sharable and instagramable.
We created instruction guides for crafting “hackable” projects.
